Kathmandu – Trekking Agencies Association of Nepal (TAAN) has provided 6 million rupees from the fund collected by TIMS( Trekkers Information Management System) as the relief to the 12 families who’s member have lost their lives while trekking in Annapurna, Upper Dolpa, Everest and Manaslu.
Before this, there was the provision of distributing 2 hundred 50 rupees as the relief. The trekking companies have increased the insurance of trekkers up to 2 million rupees and TAAN has distributed 4 hundred thousand rupees to each family as the relief, said Ang Pemba Sherpa, General Secretary of TAAN.
Relief has distributed the families of Dak Bahadur Ale Magar, Bhim Bahadur Gurung, Jeevan Limbu, Khem Bahadur Shrestha, Sansar Gurung, Indra Bahadur Gurung, Pemba Kuisyang Sherpa, Tsering Bhote, Dina Anjuk Bhote, Phurba Bhote, Netra Bahadur Chanatayal and Pem Dorge Sherpa.
TAAN has already distributed relief to the 33 people and they have shown the concern as many people have gone to trekking without trekking guide and have requested trekkers to take a guide with them. Pemba stressed that people must take TIMS card with them so that they can get the benefit while trekking.
