The Regional Hotel Association Bardiya has been formed as the 16th branch of the Hotel Association Nepal(HAN). After the meeting of the working committee of the HAN held in Bardiya duly approved the branch, the President of the HAN Shreejana Rana handed over the certificate of affiliation to the President of the regional hotel association Bardiya Mohan Chaudhary.

Thanking the hoteliers of Bardiya for joining the HAN, President Rana expressed the commitment of the Hotel Association Nepal to play an important role in the overall tourism of the Bardiya region, especially the hotel industry, by organizing a training on how to operate hotels in this situation. She also clarified that the state has given a positive response to the continuous efforts made by various agencies to provide charge exemption to the highly affected hotel industry. She mentioned that the association would organize interactions in all the seven states with the objective of promoting domestic tourism.

On the occasion, Senior Vice President of the HAN Binayak Shah made a presentation on Hotel Association Nepal while General Secretary Sajan Shakya informed about the work done by the Association. He said that given the special circumstances of Covid-19 and the uncertainty of tourist arrivals, immediate revival of tourism does not seem possible and the tourism industry, especially the hotel industry, is getting dilapidated as it cannot afford business expenses. He said that the hotel industry should be declared as a national priority industry.

On the occasion, President Rana spoke about staff management, banks, municipal taxes, and other taxes, other facilities related to electricity, tourism leave, brief environmental study, internal tourism, classification of tourist products, criteria and security, registration, and integrated data system. Chief Guest Mayor Dr. Dhawal Shamsher Rana said that the municipality would provide necessary assistance for the promotion of tourism in the region. Officials and working committee members of Central Hotel Association and Regional Hotel Association Nepalgunj were present on the occasion.
