Phulpati Being Observed Across the Nation
Kathmandu – Phulpati, The seventh day of Bada Dashain festival, is being celebrated all over the nation on Saturday.
On the occasion, collects banana stalks, Jamara, Belpatra (leaves of wood apple) and sugarcane sticks tied with red cloth along with Kalash filled with holy water is brought to Hanumandhoka from Gorkha district on a decorated palanquin.
The Gurujyuko Platoon, the Nepal Army, Nepal police, and high- ranking officials of Armed Police and civil service, the Asha Gurja team, band music, and Panchebaja bands and decorated Kalsyoulis, and a procession along with cultural pageantry leave Hanuman Dhoka for Jamal with the Phulpati.
Other Hindu devotees also collected Phulpati an assortment of flowers, leaves, and fruits of different plants considered auspicious and took them inside their home.
Though Dashain begins with Ghatasthapana, the festival gets special flavor from the day of Phulpati.
From this day, all government, as well as private offices, are closed to celebrate the festival.
