Darchula – Campaign for Promotion of Community Paralegalism in Nepal ( CPCPN) organized an orientation for Cyber Paralegals in Darchula today.
The orientation has been organized as a part of Women’s Day celebration week. The orientation was provided by President of the organization Mr Prabhakar Bagchand.
Speaking on the occasion Mr Bagchand said, cyber crime is one of the fastest growing crimes.As a part of intergrated legal empowerment structure, Cyber Paralegals have been trained by CPCPN to contribute to effective enforcement of Electronic Transactions Act commonly known as Cyber crime law 2063.
The Cyber Paralegals will raise awareness about provisions of the Act and contribute to protecting users online against cyber crimes. In the recent times social media has has been used to exploit women which is a matter of grave concern.
Although social media is an effective tool in many aspects, it allows for many illicit activities.With the popularity and use of social media many women folks have fallen pray to Internet abusers. it essential that security measures be taken by individuals. The Cyber Paralegals will educate community people about social media ethics and ettiquette.
The Cyber Paralegals were given set of guideline on ethics and etiquette for community outreach. On the ocassion Paralegals stressed on the need to colloborate with government agencies and concerned stakeholders.
