NTB to Expand Branches in 5 States Within This F/Y
Kathmandu – Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) is going to open branch offices in five states of the country. For that, a budget of Rs. 17 million, has been allocated in Fiscal Year 2077/78.
As the center of the NTB is situated in Kathmandu, its central office will be in Bagmati Province. Also, it has already established its branch in the capital of Gandaki Province, Pokhara. Now, the NTB is going to establish a new branch in the remaining five provinces.
According to Hikmat Singh Ayer, Senior Director of the NTB, branches will be expanded in the states within this fiscal year. For that, the NTB will assign another staff led by the manager, whose salary will be paid by the NTB. Likewise, the state government will be requested for the arrangement of office and furniture.
“We are doing internal homework, and soon we will open the office in coordination with the state governments, and our branch offices will work in collaboration with the state governments, local municipalities, and villages, ”said Ayer, Senior director. The provincial office will cooperate with the local level in research, identification, development, and promotion of destinations. “We will help each state with branding, research, development, and networking. The formation of the provincial office is expected to help increase the number of domestic tourists from one province to another,” he added.
Likewise, Deepak Mahat, a Member of the NTB’s Executive Committee said, “Let the state government look after the infrastructure development work, and the promotion and marketing work will be done by the NTB.” He also mentioned that the branch offices will work hand in hand with the state government, municipalities, and villages. Besides, representatives of the states will be invited to participate in national and international fairs and conferences, in coordination with the Board Center.
