Kathmandu – Nepal Airlines next wide-body “Makalu” will be starting flights this week with Bangkok, Thailand as its first commercial destination.
Managing Director of the NAC, Sugat Ratna Kansakar informed of plans to start commercial flights by Tuesday. hee stated that The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal approved the Air Operation Certificate for the Airbus 330-200 on Thursday which makes the aircraft eligible for flights.
The NAC has already managed pilots to fly the aircraft, hiring 6 Nepali and 3 foreign pilots for the purpose. Managing Director Kansakar said that the Airbus will currently be serving to existing destinations and after Tihar will start flights to new destinations in South Korea, Japan, and Saudi Arabia.
