Pokhara – A team of tourism entrepreneurs left here for India, seeking the promotion of tourism in Pokhara.

The team will extend the invitation to Indian guests for the visit to touristic town Pokhara during this summer. The trip titled’ Promotional Tour and Sales Mission- 2019′ is managed by Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) and its members are scheduled to visit Hyderabad and Bangalore.

Gandaki State minister for economic affairs and planning, Kiran Gurung, bade farewell to the squad amidst a ceremony here Thursday.

On the occasion, he described the tourism business as a base for economic development in the state, adding the promotion of this sector was the priority of the state government. He promised to work in partnership with the private sector towards that end.

According to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB)’s Gandaki State manager Surya Thapaliya, Bangalore and Hyderabad are appropriate markets for Nepali tourism and the pace of tourism development in the town would see a further boost if people of these Indian cities were given a clear message that Pokhara could be one of the best destinations for them mainly during summer.

Such type of event has been in the calendar of NATTA since 2008.  The teams comprise 16 members including the NGB Gandaki State manager. The visit is supported by the NTB and promotional activities will take place until June 10.
