MoHP Confirms Eighth COVID-19 Death Case
The Ministry of Health and Population (MoHP) has confirmed the eighth COVID-19 death case.
Dr. Bikash Devkota, the spokesperson of the ministry, said on Sunday that a 2-year old girl of Bajura district who breathed her last today morning was found to be COVID-19 positive.
She had entered Nepal eight days ago from India with her parents.
“The deceased was hospitalized on May 28 and her swab sample was collected on May 29,” said Dr. Devkota. “She tested positive for COVID-19 in RT-PCR test done at Seti Provincial Hospital.”
With this, Nepal’s COVID-19 death toll has reached eight and the national COVID-19 tally has reached 1,567 including 220 cases of recovery.
