Jiri Street Food Festival 2019 on October 18
Kathmandu – Jiri Street Food Festival 2019′ will be held in touristic destination Jiri, Dolakha. Youth Network (Yuva Sanjal) Jiri going to organize this festival along with the slogan ‘Natural beauty, entrance to the Everest, the live music and delicious food’.
The festival will be held on October 18-20. The festival, which will be held on the eve of the Visit Nepal Year 2020 in Jiri is recognized with various touristic values, is expected to help bring more tourists to Jiri.
Chairman of the network, Kendra Jyoti Khadka, said that the festival to be organized by focusing on domestic and international tourists. The fair, which lasts for three days, plans to bring in more than 5,000 domestic tourists. In addition, the organizer is expected to have about Rs. one million from various 30 food item stalls.
Jiri, the ancient resident of the Jirrel caste, has an abundance of Sherpa and Tamang communities. The main tourist destinations of Jiri are Jireshwar Temple, Haleshwar Temple, Panchpokhari, Jatapokhari, Lawati Waterfall, Cherdug Dada, Cherdug Cheese Production Center. Likewise, the local productions are cheese, tea, potato, kiwi, trout fish. Games like hiking, jeep safari, and cycling will also be played at major tourist destinations for entertaining the tourists visiting the festival.
Chairperson Khadka informed that various organizations Jiri Municipality, Gaurishankar Conservation Area Project, Nepal Tourism Board and others have supported the program.
