Kathmandu – Plan International is an independent development and humanitarian organization that advances children’s rights and equality for girls. We have been working in Nepal since 1978 to help marginalized girls and boys, their families and communities for accessing their rights to survival, development, protection, and participation. We are implementing programs through local development partners in 24 districts in cooperation with the Nepal government, civil society organizations, and schools. The Girls Advocacy Alliance (GAA) program is a 5-years program (2016-2020) of Plan Nederland, Terre des Homes Nederland and Defense for Children – ECPAT Nederland. The GAA program is led by Plan Nederland and is implemented in cooperation with the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In Nepal, Plan International Nepal program is implementing GAA program in partnership with national NGOs namely Child Workers in Nepal (CWIN) and Women Rehabilitation Center (WOREC). The program is being implemented at national and local level with a long term vision that “girls and young women free from gender-based violence (especially child marriage and sexual abuse), with decent economic opportunities and dignified life”. GAA Nepal program aims to achieve this by enabling civil society organization and communities, so that they can hold the governments and private sector actors accountable, and by mobilizing key decision-makers to address social norms and values.

Project Coordinator is one of the key team members of GAA Plan International Nepal team who will be contributing substantially to achieve the project’s vision of making girls and young women free from gender-based violence.
Besides her responsibilities under the GAA project, the Project Coordinator will also support the Head of Girls Agency and youth empowerment in coordinating the Girls agency and youth empowerment-related activities.
Dimensions of the Role
The annual budget of the GAA project is approximately Euro 500,000 and project activities are implemented following a Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) through two national-level partners. Considering this, under the direct supervision and guidance of Advocacy Project manager, the Project Coordinator’s main role is to establish good linkages with the implementing partners to ensure implementation of the activities as per the Detail Implementation Plan (DIP) agreed during partnership agreement. In addition, Project Coordinator will contribute in confirming the process followed by partners during program implementation following the needful PLAN and donor compliances that includes, compiling the reports, proper and up to date advocacy action logbook and SIGN logbook, disaggregated data, case stories, learning papers, etc.
