Himalaya Airlines Operates 14 International Cargo Flights During the Lockdown
Himalaya Airlines has flown 14 international cargo flights during the lockdown. Himalaya Airlines has stated that it has brought 88.5 tons of medical supplies to Nepal from 14 cargo flights. The airline has flown all 14 of its flights to China. It has flown to five cities in China: Guangzhou, Changsha, Chongqing, Kunming, and Beijing.
Himalaya Airlines did not fly a single cargo flight till April 26 but then operated 14 flights. Himalaya Airlines, which made its first cargo flight to Guangzhou on the 26th, flew to Chang on April 30, May 2, May 5, May 15, May 17, May 22, June 2, and June 5.
There are also flights to Chongqing on May 8 and 9, Kunming on May 10 and 24, and Beijing on May 28. The airlines have stated that medical supplies have arrived in all the cargo flights. Himalaya Airlines, established in August 2014 as a Nepal-China joint venture, now has four aircraft. Himalaya Airlines is the only Nepali airline connecting Saudi Arabia and Nepal. Himalaya Airlines is the only Nepali airline to fly to China even though Nepal Airlines has not been able to operate regular flights to China.
