Government Tightens Restriction Over International Chartered Flights
KATHMANDU- The government has tightened restrictions on international chartered flights. The government has made it clear that chartered flights will be available only on the recommendation of the concerned embassies after privately seeking permission for chartered flights started.
The spokesperson of the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal, Raj Kumar Chhetri, said that the recommendation of the embassy of the country concerned has been made mandatory in all flights from Nepal. After the government started a campaign to repatriate Nepalese living abroad, some travel companies started booking tickets through advertisements.
The government has not yet decided how to repatriate citizens from Europe and the United States. Private chartered airplanes, on the other hand, started booking tickets for Europe and the United States. Chhetri said that the flight has been tightened to prevent distortion in the name of chartered flights and to discourage high-priced ticket sales.
Commercial passenger flights have been banned in Nepal. That is why only flights with the diplomatic agreement between the two countries are being recognized as chartered flights.
