Dhangadhi-Campaign for Promotion of Community Paralegalism in Nepal (CPCPN) was inaugurated by religious leader swami Shree 1008 Dev Raj Acharya in Dhangadhi today.
Speaking on the occasion President of CPCPN Mr. Prabhakar Bagchand said, the campaign was established as a mark of respect to all the grassroots barefoot lawyers – the paralegals who work in difficult condition to establish rule of law. Mr. Bagchand said that law can change the mindset of people and bring about true development. He said that we should not only talk about rights but our responsibilities as well. Paralegals can play a crucial role in empowering communities and ensuring good governance. Mr. Bagchand noted, province seven can set an example by bringing about policies and programs in line with the targets set by Sustainable Development Goals. He said that law has to be a way out of poverty and discrimination – the root cause of injustice.
Present on the occasion were vice president of the organization Mr. Amrit B.C. Paralegals and community women.
The paralegals also met his Excellency the chief of province 7 Mr. Mohan Raj Malla. The paralegals congratulated the chief of province and apprised him about the positive changes brought about by paralegals in their communities.
