Break Unclimbed Mountain’s Virginity for Tourism Promotion

Kathmandu – Veteran Climber Aang Phurba Sherpa and his team start a campaign for scale unclimbed mountains. The government has opened Four Hundred Three mountains to climb but very few mountain’s virginity has broken.  Aang Phurba said “we start this campaign for the promotion of Nepal tourism if we can show our new destinations with foreign climbers; they will be interest upon it. It means that we can attract foreigner with new destinations.” He added that we start this campaign since 2015 A.D. Up to now we have climbed three mountains successfully.



This team successfully climbed Burkey Khang (7195 Meters) in 2015, Khangjungsar (UIAA Peak, 6061 Meters) in 2016, Tharkey Khang (6710 Meter) and Recently they have broken a virginity of peak Nupla Khang (6861 Meter).

These Mountains are placed at Mahalangur Mountain range in Khumbu region. These mountains are looking small but too tough due to technically, but foreigner is interested in this type of mountains so that we started this mission Said Fixing leader Aang Phurba.



Aang Phurba Sherpa is continuing this campaign with coordination of American Leader climber Garrett Madison and his team. Along with Aang Phurba, Sherpa Pasdawa Sherpa, Kam Dorjee Sherpa, Tashi Sherpa, and Lakpa Dendi Sherpa are in this team.

This campaign has the mission to break a virgin peak per year. In a question of Nepalayatimes, have you got any beneficiary from Nepal Government? Sherpa replied that we are running with our mission to recognize our nation and Himalayas in the world but the government doesn’t care to us. I think government unknown about these facts.

This mission is running with join venture of Madison Mountaineering owned by Garrett Madison and Himalaya Guides Nepal.

Who is Aang Phurba Sherpa  

Aang Phurba Sherpa, 33, (Sherpa, King of Mountain) is from Khebalung, Sankhuwasabah, Nepal. Phurba has summited Everest Seven times, Manaslu five times, Lhotse two times, Makalu once, Cho Oyu once and Ama Dablam three times and K2 once Recently.
