Annapurna Basecamp Hotels to Re-open From Today
Kathmandu – Hotels around the Annapurna Base camp, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country, will re-open from today, tour operators say.
All hotels in the area had been shud down since March this year following heavy snowfall, which destroyed four hotels in the area beyond repair, said Gopal Shrestha, a spokesperson for the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAN).
According to TAN, trekkers had to find accommodation and food at Machhapuchhre Basecamp before heading to Annapurna. With the opening of the hotels, trekkers can directly go to Annapurna Basecamp.
A hotel in the area can accommodate up to 50 people during the peak season.
