63% Working Progress in Pokhara Regional International Airport
Kaski – The construction work of Pokhara Regional International Airport is underway even in the time of the pandemic. Project Chief, Vinesh Munkarmi said that the construction work has not been affected by the COVID-19.
He said that despite the pandemic, the construction work of the airport has not stopped, and they are supplying the necessary equipment and construction materials. So far, 63 percent of physical progress has been made in the project. According to Munkarmi, they plan to supply machines and other equipment within three months and then complete the work within six months. He said that the project will be completed by the end of the current fiscal year 2077/078.
A few days ago, Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Yogesh Bhattarai had also said that the construction work will be completed within the stipulated time. So far, the work of the runway, taxiway, and domestic and international aprons has been completed at the airport. Likewise, work on the access road, terminal building, and service road are in the final stages. The structural work of 54 buildings has been completed and is being finished. The initial cost of construction of the national pride project airport is about Rs 22 billion.
