58 Thousand Tourists Arrive in Khumbu Region
Kathmandu – Around 58 thousand tourists have visited Khumbu Region in this fiscal year 2075-76. According to the information provided by the Sagarmatha National Park
, Namche, Altogether 57,990 tourists from various countries have traveled to the Khumbu region.
Rabin Chaudhary, Information Officer and Conservation Officer of Sagarmatha National Park said that last year, the highest arrival of tourists was recorded in the month of October/ November. Altogether 13,125 tourists visited the park in the month of October/November in which 12,449 tourists arrived from foreign countries
, 538 from SAARC countries and 128 tourists were domestic tourists.
As compared to the statistics of last year, this year the number of tourists is increasing. However, the number of tourists has decreased in the tourist season due to unfavorable weather and construction of Tribhuwan International Airport.
